Adverse Weather and Emergency Closures

In the event of adverse weather, we will make every effort to keep our school open and running as normal. Therefore, unless you hear from us, our school will be open as normal for all students.

A careful risk assessment will be undertaken and the health and safety of our students and staff will remain our top priority.

To support families to make arrangements, we will endeavour to give parents as much notice as possible should it be necessary to open the school at a later time, to fewer year groups or to close temporarily. Where possible, any decision to open late or to partially or fully close the school will be communicated with parents and carers by 5pm the day before adverse weather is forecast.

On the day of adverse weather, an update will be provided at 7am. This will either be confirmation that our plans communicated on the previous day remain unchanged, or notification that we have had to move to a full closure. This could be due to the unexpected wider impact of the adverse weather, changes to our external provider arrangements, such as transport and catering, staffing levels, or the safety of our site. Please check our website from 7am for the most up to date information.

To support the delivery of communications via Edulink, we recommend downloading the Edulink app and allowing push notifications. The app is available and free for both iOS and Android.

In the event of closure, students will be set work on Edulink to be completed during the day.
