Commemorating Remembrance 2024

We are incredibly proud to have been part of the Wadhurst Remembrance Service on Sunday 10 November, joining our community in paying tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and all those who continue to serve and protect their countries.

The service included a parade through the village, a gathering at the war memorial, and a heartfelt service in St. Peter & St. Paul Church. Our Head of History, Mrs. Underdown, and three of our Year 9 students, Sophie, Charlie & Lilly-Anne, represented Uplands Academy by laying a wreath on behalf of our school community.

Our Headteacher, Mr Connor, led assemblies for Years 7-11 allowing our school community to unite for a collective moment of reflection and remembrance, in hope for a brighter, peaceful future. Students had the opportunity to purchase a selection of poppies, including the new plastic-free poppy, and other items from our school reception and during tutor time. The whole school observed the two minute silence on Monday 11 November.
