Wicked The Musical Trip

On Wednesday 27 November, thirty-two Performing Arts Technical Award students had the incredible opportunity to see Wicked The Musical, at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, in London.

The Year 10 & 11 students were captivated by the production, with many enjoying the clever links to the original Wizard of Oz story. Standout moments included the iconic songs, 'Defying Gravity', 'For good' & 'No Good Deed'. They were also blown away by the impressive set design, which brought the magical story to life.

Adding to the excitement, the group had a stroke of luck when they encountered the Wizard of Oz himself on the train journey. He even took the time to chat with some of the students on the platform - what a treat!

After the show, the group participated in an inspiring Q&A session with members of the cast & crew. Performers and the stage manager shared their journeys into the industry, and students asked insightful questions about breaking into theatre and the role of a dance captain.

Miss Leader, Head of Music praised the students, 'Their engagement and behaviour throughout the trip was excellent'.

A truly magical and educational experience for all!
